2. What is collected
This website has no forms and no accounts. You cannot send us anything through it.
If you phone or email us, we receive what you choose to share: usually your name, your number or email address, and what you are asking about, such as a tree size, a bulk order or a delivery.
Separately, the company that hosts this website processes basic technical information about every visit, including your IP address, to serve the pages and to block abuse. We do not see this as a list of visitors and it is not used to identify anyone.
If, and only if, you agree to analytics when the site asks you, Google Analytics also collects information about your visit. Section 7 explains that in full.
3. Why, and the lawful basis
We use your details for one thing: to answer you, and to arrange your tree, your order or your delivery. You are not added to a mailing list, and your details are never sold or passed to anyone for marketing.
The lawful basis under the UK GDPR is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) when you ask about buying, and legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for replying to general questions.
4. How long it is kept
The website itself stores nothing about you. Messages sit in our phone and email:
- Enquiries that do not lead to an order
- Deleted 24 months after the last contact.
- Orders, deliveries and bulk orders
- Kept with our business records for as long as the law requires.
If you want your details removed sooner, ask, and they will be removed unless the law requires them to be kept.
5. Who else sees it
- Cloudflare
- Hosts this website.
- Microsoft (Outlook)
- Provides the email account your emails land in. Microsoft's own privacy statement applies to that service.
Beyond that, your details are shared with nobody, other than where the law requires it.
6. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you can ask to have a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how it is used, to object to its use, or to receive it in a portable format.
To do any of these, ring 07485 555535 or email samgrimsley04@gmail.com. There is no charge, and you will get a response within one month.
If you are not happy with how your data has been handled, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
7. Cookies and analytics
This website sets one cookie of its own, called cb_consent. All it records is whether you agreed to analytics, and when you were asked. It holds nothing that identifies you, it lasts six months, and it is set the moment you answer the question, whichever way you answer. It is the only way the site can remember not to ask you again.
If you say no, nothing else is set and nothing else loads: no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising tags, no social media embeds and no third-party fonts. The site works exactly the same. If you close the banner without answering, or press Escape, that is not agreement: nothing is stored and you will be asked again next time.
If you say yes, Google Analytics loads and sets its own cookies. It shows which pages people find useful, whether visitors tap to call, email or open the map, roughly where in the world they are, and what sort of device they used. It does not say who you are. Until you say yes, no request is made to Google at all: the code is not in the page, rather than being in the page and told to behave.
Who runs the analytics. The Google Analytics property for this website is set up and operated by Castleberg Digital. For any question or request about analytics data, contact us as above, or Castleberg Digital at https://castlebergdigital.co.uk. Google's own privacy notice is at policies.google.com/privacy.
The map on the Contact page. The map does not load until you tap "Show the map". When you do, it is loaded from Google Maps, and Google may set its own cookies and receive your IP address, under Google's privacy policy. The "Get directions" and "Street View" buttons simply take you to Google Maps. If you never tap the map or follow those links, nothing from Google is loaded on this site.
Changing your mind. There is a Change your cookie choice button at the bottom of every page, as long as your browser is running JavaScript. Without JavaScript there is nothing to turn off, because no analytics can load. The button clears your answer and asks again.
8. Changes to this notice
If the way personal data is handled changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top changed.
